PrinterFlo Sign Quote Calculator

Description

How this differs from every other calculator plugin: the general-purpose cost calculators are empty form builders — powerful, but YOU have to construct the pricing logic, field by field, before they do anything. This calculator is built for one trade. It installs already knowing how sign work is priced: width × height to square footage, a material rate, finishing options per square foot or per piece, quantity, a minimum order. Drop in the shortcode and it quotes like a sign shop from the first minute — then edit the rates to yours.

Built by sign people. PrinterFlo makes shop-management software for print & sign shops, designed alongside a working sign shop. This plugin is the customer-facing edge of that: the same pricing logic shops use at the counter, on your website, for free.

What it does

  • Instant estimates — visitors enter size, quantity and material, tick finishing options, and see a live price. No signup walls in front of your own customers.
  • Arrives pre-loaded — eight common sign materials (banner, coroplast, foam board, PVC, ACM, aluminum, acrylic, vehicle magnetic) at typical retail rates, plus lamination, grommets, hemming, double-sided and design-help options. Every name and number is editable; add or remove rows freely.
  • Turns estimates into leads — a “Request this quote” button opens a short form; the request lands in your inbox with the full job spec (size, material, options, estimate) attached. Reply and close.
  • Your rules — currency symbol, minimum order price, and the estimate disclaimer wording are all yours to set.
  • Spam-resistant — honeypot field plus rate limiting on the request endpoint, no CAPTCHA for real customers to fight.
  • Light and private — no external services, no tracking, nothing loaded from anyone’s CDN. Assets load only on pages that actually contain the calculator.

What it deliberately is not

It quotes estimates, by design — the final price is confirmed by you. Complex option-dependent pricing (substrate-specific laminate rates, quantity breaks, setup fees, live margin) is shop-management territory; that’s what PrinterFlo itself does, and this plugin never pretends your website can replace your estimator.

Installation

  1. Install and activate the plugin.
  2. Put [pfsqc_sign_quote_calculator] on any page.
  3. Go to Settings Sign Quote Calculator and set your materials, rates and the email that receives quote requests.

That’s the whole setup.

FAQ

Does it show my costs or margins to visitors?

No. The calculator only knows the retail rates you enter in Settings — it never contains cost or margin information.

Where do quote requests go?

To the email address you set in Settings (your site’s admin email by default), with the customer’s name, contact, notes, and the full job spec including their estimate.

Can I change the materials and prices?

All of them. Materials and options are editable rows — rename them, change rates, delete them, add your own. The seeded values are just a sensible starting point.

Does it work with my page builder / theme?

The calculator renders from a shortcode with its own scoped styles and no dependencies, so it behaves in Gutenberg, Classic, Elementor and friends alike.

Does it send my data or my visitors’ data anywhere?

No. There are no external requests. Quote requests go from your site’s front end to your own site’s REST endpoint, and out as email through your WordPress mail configuration.

Is the “Calculator by PrinterFlo” link required?

No — it’s off by default. There’s a checkbox in Settings if you’d like to show it.
