A reader spots a typo, selects the incorrect text, and submits a correction in a simple modal. You get the report; your content gets better. No external service. No complicated workflow. A reader finds a typo in a post or page. 2. They select the incorrect text and press `Ctrl+Enter` or `Cmd+Enter`, or click the report link. 3. They enter the suggested correction and submit the report. 4. You review the report in **Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading > Reports**. 5. You correct the content and keep publishing with confidence. Approved comments also include their own “Report a typo” link. Comment reports are linked to the specific comment in the admin report list. Comment reporting is available to free and Pro users and can be enabled or disabled from **Settings > Comment Reporting**. ## Installation 1. In WordPress, go to **Plugins > Add New**. 2. Search for **Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading**. 3. Install and activate the plugin. 4. Open **Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading** from the WordPress admin menu. 5. In **Settings**, choose whether to enable text highlighting and database logging. You can also install Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading manually: 1. Download the plugin ZIP file. 2. Go to **Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin**. 3. Upload the ZIP file, install it, and activate the plugin. ## FAQ ### How do visitors report a typo? They can click the “Report a typo” link displayed below single posts or, when comment reporting is enabled, after approved comments. They can also select text and press` Ctrl+Enter` on Windows/Linux or `Cmd+Enter` on macOS. The form shows progress and submission feedback inside the modal. ### Where do I review reports? Open **Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading > Reports** in the WordPress admin menu. Reports include the selected text, correction, post, URL, and submission date. Reports from comments also link to the specific comment. ### Does Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading work with any theme? It is designed to work with any WordPress theme. The report link is added to enabled singular post types and approved comments, and the markup can be styled with your own CSS. ### Will Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading slow down my site? The front-end CSS and JavaScript load only on single posts and pages. Report submissions are handled asynchronously, and report data uses indexed database queries. ### Can I disable the keyboard shortcut? Yes. Go to **Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading > Settings** and disable ** Enable Text Highlighting**. Visitors can still use the report link. ### How does the plugin prevent spam? Free users can submit up to 5 reports per IP per one-hour rate-limit window. Pro users can submit up to 30. Duplicate reports for the same location, text, and correction within five minutes are rejected. The IP is hashed for the cache key and the raw address is not stored. ### Can I disable comment reporting? Yes. Go to **Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading > Settings** and uncheck ** Comment Reporting**. Comment reporting is disabled by default until you opt in. ### Is personal information stored? Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading does not store IP addresses with reports. A hashed IP address is used temporarily for rate limiting. Review your own privacy policy and site configuration to determine the disclosures required for your installation. ### Can I export reports? Yes. Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading Pro can export reports to CSV or PDF, with optional date and post filters. ### What is the Business plan? The Business plan adds collaboration features to Pro: internal notes, status tracking, role-based access for your team, advanced filtering, and custom branding. These features require a Business license. ### Are WP-CLI commands available? Yes. Administrators can use `wp typo-hunter stats`, `wp typo-hunter reports list`, and `wp typo-hunter reports export`. Maintenance commands include `wp typo-hunter reports delete-old --before=YYYY-MM-DD --yes` and `wp typo-hunter cache flush`. ### Can I customize the report link? Yes. Go to **Typo Reporter – Spelling & Proofreading > Settings** and change the report link text.
