WP Default Feature Image brings the features that help you to specify the default feature image for your WordPress website. All Post Types and Taxonomies are supported.

Features included:

  • Specifying default feature images by any post types and taxonomies.
  • Specifying the time a default feature image will be updated whenever you add/edit your posts (publish, save draft,…).
  • Generating default feature images feature.

Screenshots

  • This plugin's settings is located at Settings -> WPDFI.
  • There are 2 tabs on this plugin's settings page. The first tab is 'DFIs', this is the place where you can set your default feature images for any post types and taxonomies. You can drag to reorder the DFI values.
  • 'Add new DFI' button is located in the bottom of this tab.
  • 'Options' tab is the place where you can set 'Status of a post to add default feature image' and 'Generate Feature Image with values from DFIs tab'.
  • Example: You set a new DFI value in 'DFIs' tab.
  • You set 'Status of a post to add default feature image' to publish.
  • You add new page, then publish.
  • The new page you've added before now have a default feature image (If the new page does not have a feature image).
  • 'Generating default feature images' help you to automatically setup your default feature images (in 'DFIs' tab) for your existing posts.

Installation

Follow these steps to install and use the plugin:

  • Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
  • Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen in WordPress.
  • Go to the Settings -> WPDFI screen and configure the plugin.
